The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City (EDCKC) needs to communicate to its audiences that it is the professional, knowledgeable go-to resource for economic development progress in Kansas City, Missouri, but due to other priorities had not invested as much in its obligation to communicate clearly and effectively with its diverse constituencies.
SWC developed a strategic communications plan to update the organization’s content, look and feel so it more accurately reflects who EDCKC is today and supports increasingly effective outcomes in public engagement, marketing and other communications. Just a few of the strategies deployed were:
- Develop clear, consistent messaging
- Create and implement new blog series to highlight the impact of EDCKC’s work and the organization’s professional staff as knowledgeable thought leaders in the industry
- Develop the organization’s brand guidelines and update over time its stationery package, marketing materials and annual report
- Write content for a new website
