With funding available to provide renovations for the River Market Off Leash Area (RMOLA), but unsure what specific upgrades constituents valued, the Downtown Council turned to Sturges Word to garner local feedback and excitement for proposed renovations of the RMOLA.
Sturges Word created and implemented a grass roots public engagement plan to garner opinion about the proposed upgrades and also to gauge interest in forming a committee to oversee the project by creating:
- A targeted social media and email campaign that included surveys, allowing local dog owners to provide feedback on proposed RMOLA renovations.
- Postcards that were distrusted throughout the River Market and downtown neighbors encouraging residents to get involved and participate in the survey.
- A banner was hung at the RMOLA pointing users to social media for further engagement.
- Messaging packets distributed to local apartment buildings to encourage resident participation in the surveys and ambassador program.
