The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law is the largest comprehensive, fully accredited university in the Kansas City area. After relying on student-run Instagram takeovers to engage with prospective and current students, the School of Law needed a strategic approach for managing its social media presence moving forward.
Sturges Word created and implemented a social media strategy that better served the school’s communication goals of fostering engagement among current students and building brand awareness among prospective students. To do so, SWC:
- Created content pillars to inform, ensure that it served the central goal. Content pillars included student life, school events and community engagement.
- Developed a social calendar with a mix of original content that told the brand story such as “Did you Know” fact posts and alumni stories and curated content such as student internship posts.
- Organized and led a LinkedIn training to help faculty uniformly represent the school on their personal social media channels.
