1 Recession? Job numbers say no
If a recession is just around the corner, the labor market hasn’t gotten the memo. The U.S. added 372,000 jobs during June. The unemployment rate, 3.6% is unchanged from May and remains near record lows.
2 The 4-day workweek: How realistic is it really?
With the pandemic and the “Great Resignation” making it harder for companies to attract new talent, a growing number of employers are exploring the possibility of a four-day work week, to make work-life more appealing.
3 Amazon adds free Grubhub+ as a new perk for Prime members
Prime members in the U.S. can now get a free one-year Grubhub+ membership. The new offer includes “unlimited, $0 food delivery fees on orders over $12.”
4 Apple iPhone Lockdown Mode is meant to stop hacks
Lockdown Mode turns off several features on the iPhone to make it less vulnerable to spyware by significantly reducing the number of features that attackers can access and potentially hack.
5 How browser cookies make people more cautious online
Website cookies are online surveillance tools, and the entities that use them would prefer people to not read those notifications too closely. People who do read the notifications carefully will find that they have the option to say no to some or all cookies.
